No.3 – No Liverpool Liabilities

I can understand why you would be very hesitant about this game. The last two European finals in recent years were hugely disappointing. Plus the 4-1 loss to Spurs at Wembley last season is the worst league game we’ve had over the last two years.

However, the culprits of those three painful defeats will not play a part on Saturday. Alberto Moreno was the one who threw away a half time lead against Sevilla in 2016. He won’t see the field.

Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet were the key culprits against Spurs in October 2017. The Croatian defender was hauled off after 30-minutes. His horrid errors overshadowed a very poor performance from Mignolet. Only an injury or sending off for Alisson will get Mignolet on the field, while Lovren will likely need two center back injuries to get game time.

Lovren started the Champions League final against Real Madrid last year but was fine. It was the disastrous game from Loris Karius that killed the Reds in that game. He is long gone.

For the first time in a European final I have no worries about any of the players who will start. Any mistakes will be hugely out of character. I even like the subs.
