Liverpool vs Tottenham: Origi hattrick or Firmino to make a difference? The Champions League final big prediction
We have the momentum
After only losing one Premier League game all season and missing out on the title by one point, this is one the players will not lose.
Do put that much energy – emotional and physical – into a 38 week battle for supremacy is tough. To do so well for so long but be bested by an incredible football project with unlimited resources is tough.
But now the Champions League final is in the hands of the players. It’s a one off game. And the Reds are good at one off games.
This is largely the squad that lost to Real Madrid last year, and that will hurt. They will take that pain and use it constructively to ensure one of the best seasons in memory will go down as a success.
Sure City have domestic triumph, but Liverpool could claim to be the best in Europe. And that’s something that will hurt them, no matter what they say.
With a full squad and high motivation, the Reds will be able to grind out a win against some very good opposition. I’m going a 2-0 win.
