Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final and Jamie Carragher can’t stop laughing at what Gary Neville said before the quarter-final.

The Reds beat Spurs 2-0 thanks to a first half penalty from Mohamed Salah and a Divock Origi strike just before the final whistle as they lifted the European cup for the sixth time.

And Carragher was quick to jump on Twitter and remind Neville about something he said after the first quarter-final leg against Bayern Munich.

To be fair to the former Manchester United man, his words were completely taken out of context by Carra but if we’re honest that makes it a little bit funnier.

The tweet totally grabbed bites as well but you doubt whether Carragher will have cared at all, he’ll have been celebrating the win just as hard as the rest of the Liverpool squad.

Coming out of the Champions League final with a win is an incredible feat, especially after having such an impressive domestic season that didn’t result in any trophies.

Finally the Twitter mob can get off the back of Jurgen Klopp, although it must be mentioned that Mauricio Pochettino has done an incredible job with Spurs.

With a few clever signings and some Academy players set to make an impact next season, Liverpool fans can look forward to a very exciting 2019/2020 season.

Manchester City will want to improve and come back fighting. The Champions League is their next big project and it’ll hurt that Liverpool got their first, even though Pep Guardiola’s one point pipping of the Premier League is a sore point in an otherwise incredible campaign.
