These Andy Robertson comments have backfired so badly
These comments about Andy Robertson when he first joined Liverpool have backfired so badly and it’s hilarious to read.
The Reds signed Robertson in July 2017 for just £8 million after he was relegated with Hull City, and people did not think it was going to go well.
There wasn’t much trust in the genius of Michael Edwards back then, although a few looks at how Robbo was playing with the Tigers would have been enough to notice that Liverpool had a gem on their hands.
This is a club who aren’t afraid to spend big, but also have their eye on a wicked bargain or two. Robertson was one, Gini Wijnaldum another and Xherdan Shaqiri a third.
But as we near the two year anniversary of Robbo joining us on Merseyside, it was also going to be fun reading what people said about the move.
There are always going to be armchair pundits who think they know more than the professionals, and sometimes they get it right. But sometimes they get it wrong in such a major way, and this is the most fun part.

After more than 4,000 minutes across the Champions League and Premier League this season, 78 appearances, one goal and 14 assists in his Liverpool career it can safely be said that Robertson has been a good buy.
The Scotland international has transformed into one of the best left-backs in the world, and it also playing well on the national stage. He’s steadily climbed up the ranks of professional football from Queens Park and Dundee in Scotland to Hull and now the Reds in England.
He’s had an excellent start to his Liverpool career but it’s just starting. Robbo is already a European cup winner and is close to claiming the domestic crown.

Not bad for an £8 million who people were writing off.
