Nick Pope

Nick Pope has had a really curious career at Burnley. He was signed from Charlton Athletic as the back-up to Tom Heaton, was thrown into the side when Heaton messed up his shoulder and then did really, really well.

So well, in fact, that Pope earned his debut call up to the England squad. But then the Clarets signed Joe Hart, old Popey knacked his shoulder, went back to the bench and only played three times during this season.

Because of those limited appearances, the 27-year-old has been linked with moves to Everton and Arsenal but recently signed a new deal with Burnley. Apparently he would be available for £10 million, which is a nice little price.

That’ll give him another four years at Turf Moor, but with Hart and Heaton ahead of him in the pecking order it’ll be tough for Pope to get back into the first team.
