A photoshopped picture of Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher doing something in support of Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has everyone in meltdown.

The former Reds right-back posted a photo of himself on his Instagram story that appeared to show a drastic change to Carragher’s appearance.

Benitez is well known for his bald top and Walter White(ish) looking beard, and while the Spaniard carries it off with grace and class, the same couldn’t be said for everyone in the universe.

And Carragher sparked panic among Liverpool fans everywhere, who thought he’d gone full meth lab technician after he pretended to have shaved his head, grown a Benitez style beard all in sympathy with how Newcastle has treated the great man.

I mean just look at it. Just. Look. At. It. If Carragher hadn’t thought about ushering this look into this brave new world of ours, he should now.

There were a few genius lines thrown about, including ‘Carrabaldie’ as a new name for the one-club hero as Reddit did its thing.

"Whaaa…?! from LiverpoolFC"

But then some sleuths tracked down the original photo and showed that Carragher had been creative. Sadly, the new shiny dome and beard aren’t real and aren’t here to stay.

In other Liverpool news, the bookies have slashed odds on Bruno Fernandes making a permanent move to Anfield. The Reds are now 1/9 favourites to complete his signing at some outlets, but Manchester United are still well in the race.

There’s been a fair bit of news about Fernandes recently and more speculation was generated when Liverpool amateur detectives thought they spied a correlation between an Insta story and a flight leaving Portugal.

Next. Four relegated players Jurgen Klopp should sign. dark

If not Fernandes, maybe Ajax starlet David Neres? The Eredivisie side have just signed forward Quincy Promes, who occupies a very similar role to the Brazilian. The Reds have been linked in the past, are Ajax bringing in cover before letting Neres leave?
