Liverpool fans are cracking up over the meltdown of rival fans as both Man City and Chelsea fans suffer from VAR decisions in the past few days.
There is nothing that divides football fans now as much as VAR. Regardless of your opinion of its introduction to the Premier League, if you are a Liverpool fan you cannot help but chuckle about how it is riling Manchester City and Chelsea fans this week.
City fans are in full meltdown after their injury time winner against Tottenham Hotspur was ruled out for a handball by Aymeric Laporte. You hate to see it.
It was a harsh decision that never would have been noticed before the introduction of VAR. That is leading many rivals fans to claim Liverpool bias conspiracies.
With regards to the reported incidents after the game you can’t expect match going fans to not be frustrated. They spend big money and are getting messed around the most. VAR is exposing blatant cheating by officials, you can’t expect fans to not get frustrated by it.

VAR has been brought in to help Liverpool win the title. Don’t tell me otherwise.

It is incredible the speed that LFC haters have gone from “VAR will sort out Liverpool next season, they’ll lose way more games” to “VAR exists only to help them”.
Chelsea fans are also in a huff about the technology after Christian Pulisic has a (very good) goal (rightly) disallowed against Liverpool in the Super Cup final.
True to form, they are choosing to ignore that VAR failed to rule out the penalty given for Adrian’s tackle on Tammy Abraham even though there were numerous angles showing no contact between the players.
It will all change Liverpool fans if VAR rules against us next weekend against Arsenal, but for the Reds are enjoying how the technology’s first season in the Premier League is panning out!
Despite the popular belief from rival fans that Liverpool get awarded heaps of generous penalties, the reality has been the Reds have picked up surprisingly few over the last few seasons, especially at home. Perhaps VAR can help us pick up a few more points this season as we chase down the Premier League title.
