Liverpool vs Arsenal: Five things to watch for as Klopp looks to lay a marker

Who wins the Matip vs Gomez battle

Keep an eye on who is picked to partner Virgil van Dijk in defence, because right now Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are having a great battle to be that option.

Gomez looked to have overcome Matip in the early, early phases of the campaign – but the former Camaroon international has come back into his own recently.

He was excellent against Southampton and looks like he could be the man to help Liverpool win the Premier League, as long as he can stay fit.

Gomez will need to cover left and right-back, so will have a lot of work to do over the coming campaign and that can help Matip play more games as a center-back. With a week off in between fixtures, who Klopp chooses will be very interesting indeed.
