Liverpool welcomed Arsenal to Anfield on Saturday and walked away with all three points – a victory that’s been blamed on a ‘gulf in class’ by Gunners.

The Reds hit the back of the net three times and showed why they should be feared by all in the Premier League this season.

Joel Matip opened things up after Trent Alexander-Arnold swung in a tasty corner, before a Mohamed Salah double put the icing on the cake.

David Luiz was responsible for a rash tug on Salah’s shirt that allowed to Egyptian to score from the penalty spot – but Arsenal fan account Pain In The Arsenal was magnanimous with their praise of Liverpool.

While name checking individual errors, like Luiz’s moment of madness, they also acknowledged that the Reds have got a far stronger squad.

And as much as you might want to think otherwise, it’s simply the truth. Jurgen Klopp has had way longer with this side and has worked and worked and worked them until they know the system back to front and are willing to give everything for it.

Klopp also has some of the best players in the world at his disposal. Sadio Mane and Salah are two of the finest inside forwards around, while Virgil van Dijk could get into any side he wanted.

The result leaves Liverpool at the top of the table with three wins from three, but hopefully the side can keep working on that defence. Last season it was near impregnable, but we’re still waiting for our first clean sheet this term.

Klopp’s men now have another week off to rest and recuperate before taking on Burnley. You wouldn’t expect too much chopping and changing of the boys, who all put in an excellent shift against a tough opposition and deserve to keep their place.

With three goals now, Salah is up and running. His second against Arsenal was a thing of absolute beauty, and when the King scores like that you know he’s feeling confident and feeling good. The Clarets should be worried.
