Liverpool beat Burnley 3-0 on Saturday evening. These are the moments you missed, featuring Roberto Firmino, Virgil van Dijk and Jordan Henderson.
The Reds controlled the game and came away with three points thanks to an own goal from Chris Wood and strikes from Sadio Mane and Firmino.
But this isn’t about the goals, even though they were lovely. This is about all those other little tid bits that gets lost among the confetti and the strops and the celebrations.
Jurgen Klopp can now go into the international break with positive vibes flowing around Melwood like the autumn winds. Four wins from four, 13 on the bounce and life is looking good.
Or rather, it will be now that Mane and Mo Salah have had a few words in the dressing room and cleared the air.
So without any more messing around, here’s some bits you missed from the Liverpool game.
Bobby’s face
Firmino was ready. Firmino knew that *it* was about to go down. Just look at the little expression he’s carrying, the poor lamb.
The story here is that Mane wasn’t happy with Salah for his lack of service in the box, and he has a point. But we want our scorers to be greedy – but on this occasion the King may have over egged the pudding.
Bobby’s sly look to the camera confirms everything we thought. He loves a good little sideways glance and this was one for the memories.
Virg’s turn of phrase
We’ve all been thinking it, but this was the first time we’ve heard it being articulated by one of the Reds’ squad. Fabinho is Mr. Gadget – but how does van Dijk even know about that?
If you’ve got your conspiracy theories, this is the time for them. All we know is that we love the way he describes the Liverpool shield. Long may it last.
Henderson out?
Is this going to be the moment that an injury actually works in favour of Liverpool? Henderson picked up an ankle injury against Burnley and now the Daily Mail are saying he could miss the England internationals.
The Three Lions are playing Bulgaria and Kosovo so this may not be the biggest loss in the world, but if it allows him to return to Melwood refreshed I’ll take it.
