Liverpool vs Newcastle: Five rotations Klopp could make to keep it fresh
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would be a shot in the arm for Liverpool’s midfield and allow Klopp to inject dynamism and energy into the supporting three.
This selection would also be part of the path the Ox takes to recovery after missing nearly the whole of last season because of a shocking knee injury.
When he’s on fire, Oxlade-Chamberlain is a brilliant footballer and he was a big part of the 2017/2018 Champions League success. Klopp needs that player back in his squad and bringing him in for Jordan Henderson, who played both England’s games, would be a good move.
Henderson doesn’t get injured much but that doesn’t mean he is immune to it, and we’ve seen him grow in importance over the past two seasons.
Gini Wijnaldum also featured heavily for the Netherlands over the past 14 days and the Dutchman could also take a breather – while the one player who you’d say is the hardest to replace is Fabinho. So, sorry Fab, you’ll just have to get a few more miles in those legs.
