Liverpool vs Newcastle: Five rotations Klopp could make to keep it fresh
James Milner
James Milner is the man who never gets older but he’s been protected by Klopp this season and has just played 163 minutes of action across three Premier League games and the European Super Cup.
Despite being 33-years-old, Milner still has an important role to play and could fill in across a number of positions against Newcastle.
If the gaffer asked, Milly could swap with Andy Robertson to give him a breather. Left-back is a position he has a fair amount of experience in, and even if he doesn’t like it, he still does it the only way he knows how: at 100%.
But, you’d expect Milner to replace either Wijnaldum or Henderson and leave Fabinho as the holding midfielder while the former City boy uses that incredible engine of his to get up and down the field like a man possessed.
With just one year left on his deal, Liverpool bosses need to decide soon what they are going to do with this invaluable squad member. Starting him on Saturday would be a good place to kick things off.
