Is Liverpool star Harry Wilson better than Mason Mount and Dan James? Fans have been raving about Wilson after his third Bournemouth goal on Friday night.

The Reds loan star hit the back of the net for the Cherries as they beat Southampton 3-1 at St Mary’s, and football supporters have been glowing about the attacker’s skill in the final third.

Mount and James have also made their Premier League breakthroughs this season and have scored goals at the highest level for Chelsea and Manchester United, but is Wilson better than the pair?

You could argue that the Liverpool man would be getting into the Red Devils’  and Chelsea’s side if he was a member of the squad in place of Mount and James. It’s only because of Mohamed Salah that Wilson doesn’t play for the Reds now – while competition is less fierce for the other two.

And with three goals already and an ability to hit the ball from outside or inside the area, the 22-year-old is arguable a more rounded attacker than the Chelsea or United players. He’s also got more first team football and goals under his belt than James but slightly less than Mount, due to the Chelsea starlet’s season long loan at Vitesse.

Interestingly all three youngsters now have three Premier League goals for the season as they’ve all started things off in an excellent fashion.

The key to seeing whether Wilson is better than Mount or James is how he carries his form throughout the season and whether or not he can challenge for a place in the Liverpool first team.

No youngster since Trent Alexander-Arnold has made 20 appearances for the Reds, but Wilson clearly has the potential to be able to do that. You’d imagine Jurgen Klopp would want to take a keen look at the youngster for next season, but first he has to keep up the good work.
