Tammy Abraham vs Virgil van Dijk

This will be a massive test for Chelsea’s latest goal scoring superstar Tammy Abraham, who has been on fire in the first five games of the season but is yet to face a defender of the quality of Virgil van Dijk.

This is when the wider footballing community will see if Abraham has developed into the polished gem that the Blues need him to be this season. It’s pretty clear that Lampard has chosen the England youngster as the first choice striker and the raw talent will need to be on his game.

As for van Dijk, he can’t afford to take the prolific youngster lightly. His hat-trick against Wolves was impressive and the cleverness of his movement as well as those nice little touches around the penalty area proved that he has got the skill to make it in the Premier League.

The Dutchman doesn’t just command the  box, he’s also an outlet for goalkeeper Adrian – who prefers to spray passes out to the left hand side. Should Abraham be able to close down that passing lane, it could also create problems for Liverpool.
