He’s a leader

For a club to be successful, it can’t just rely on the manager’s input. It needs leaders on the field and off the field to ensure standards are met and players buy in to the philosophy around the club.

Milner is one of those generals who Klopp trusts to make sure everyone is pulling their weight. The Blood Red podcast went into his in a little detail last week when they said Milner can speak to his teammates in a way Klopp never could and that’s vital to have around.

It’s such a boost when you have someone who can step up like the 33-year-old did on Saturday. Despite starting just twice in the Premier League this season, Milner grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and showed his metal and physical skills.

He also sets impeccable standards during training as the fittest man in the squad never misses a session, never backs down and has the perfect lifestyle for a footballer. There is a reason why he’s played 523 top flight games and looks set for another couple of years in the league and it’s because he treats his body like a temple.

Honestly, he’s vital to have around and Liverpool need to keep him until he can’t run anymore.
