Torres giving Vidic nightmares

Fernando Torres was brilliant during his time with Liverpool and there wasn’t a defender going around who would have looked forward to taking him on. Even Nemanja Vidic was given nightmares by El Nino.

This goal Torres made Vidic look like an absolute mug as the Spaniard lurked on the defender’s shoulder, watched him make an absolute hash of trying to clear it, pounced and then calmly slotted it past Van der Sar.

It showed Torres at his very best and it’s great to remember what he was before that move to Chelsea and the decline in his goal scoring rate.

We had Fernando in his prime and it’s always nice to see him making Vidic and Manchester United look bad.
