The best eight goals Liverpool have scored against Manchester United
Berger’s banger
Patrik Berger scored some absolute howitzers for Liverpool but this free-kick must be up there with the best. It’s had all the combinations: massive distance from the goal, a huge run up, a goalkeeper who couldn’t do anything to save it and wild celebrations.
Berger, dressed in that slightly questionable green away kit, looked at the ball from about 35 yards out and just wanted to ping it. And he did, straight into the back of the net.
It’s a goal that deserves to be talked about more, and not just because of his blonde stripe down the middle of the Czech international’s flowing locks.
In the current squad, maybe only Trent Alexander-Arnold could score a goal like that. His piledriver against Chelsea was a great effort, but not many could smash one in like that.
