Liverpool maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League by beating Manchester City 3-1 at Anfield. Here are five things we learned from the game.

The match seemed intense from the very beginning and there was a controversial moment as City players thought Trent Alexander-Arnold handled the ball in the penalty area. However, the referee waved play on and soon later, Fabinho opened the scoring with only six minutes o the clock.

A few minutes later, Andrew Robertson provided a fine cross which was headed in from Mohamed Salah to double the Reds‘ lead. We found a third when Sadio Mane netted his 11th goal of the season after cashing in on Jordan Henderson‘s brilliant cross.

Manchester City were far from clinical in front of goal and squandered a number of scoring opportunities. Barring Raheem Sterling, the club’s attackers were disappointing. However, they found a goal thanks to Bernardo Silva.

Liverpool went nine points above Manchester City with today’s win while their opponents are now fourth in the Premier League table.
