Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1 to move one step closer to claiming the Premier League title. Read our player ratings here!

Goals from Fabinho, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah put the Reds in a commanding position before Bernardo Silva pulled one back at the end.

Jurgen Klopp opted for the more conservative midfield of Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum either side of the Brazilian and it worked a treat.

After Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain impressed against Genk, Arenal and Genk again there were calls for him to be picked for this massive clash, but Klopp held firm and went with his first choice trio. With three points safely in our hands, that’s why he gets paid to make the big calls.

The win takes Liverpool nine points clear of Leicester City, who occupy second thanks to victory against Arsenal. City have slumped to fourth, behind Frank Lampard‘s Chelsea, and that will give Pep Guardiola something to think about over the international break.

7. Alisson would never have imagined he’d have so little to do when he was preparing for this game, but City were strangely toothless until the end. Even then, the Brazilian could have done little to prevent the goal and he made some excellent stops throughout the game. Alisson’s distribution was also great and he inspired confidence at the back.<br />. Goalkeeper. Liverpool. ALISSON
