Solid performance by Van Dijk

Liverpool’s defenders did a pretty decent job but their best performer at the back and arguably throughout the match was Virgil van Dijk.

The Reds may not have kept as many clean sheets as one would have expected them to but the Dutchman has shown some really good performances to justify why he’s widely considered to be the world’s best defender.

The Netherlands captain put in a commanding display at the back and made life difficult for the Crystal Palace attackers. His presence in central defence continues to be a key reason why opposition players find it hard to score more against Liverpool.

Klopp will certainly expect more from the 28-year-old as the season progresses.
