With a win, Liverpool could secure top spot in Group E. Thankfully, Napoli isn’t in great shape recently. So who does Jurgen Klopp turn to for the win?
With a late 2-1 win against Crystal Palace over the weekend, Liverpool now have four wins over their last five games and are absolutely cruising at the top of the Premier League. They’ve only dropped two points since the start of the season. With that, Klopp’s men enjoy an eight-point cushion on second-place Leicester City.
They also hold a nine-point lead over Manchester City.
It’s basically the opposite for Carlo Ancelotti and Napoli. They’re winless in their last five with four draws and a loss. That form has Napoli sitting in seventh in Serie A and 15 points off leaders Juventus.
Leading up to the fixture, Liverpool were given an extra bounce as Napoli’s star man Lorenzo Insigne won’t be available for the game. In eleven stars in the league, Insigne has three goals and four assists.
In three Champions League games, Insigne has a goal and an assist. Just in case you were wondering how good he was and how big of a miss he’s going to be for Napoli.
With Brighton coming up in the league on Saturday, Klopp has to be careful with his lineup so who does he pick to try to claim the top spot in the group and an easier go in the group of 16 in the Champions League?
Keeper
Again, as I wrote in the predicted line up before the Cyrstal Palace match, there is no reason to think that Alisson won’t be between sticks for Liverpool. Unless he’s unfit to play before kick-off, the Brazilian will be in goal for the Reds.
