Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe GomezVirgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson

Three of the back four are pretty much irreplaceable for Liverpool, especially for a massive game like this. Ideally you’d like to see a bit more rotation across the defenders as Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are asked to get through a tremendous amount of work across the campaign.

Joe Gomez and James Milner could cover the full-backs, while Gomez is a natural central defender and this is where he’ll be picked to play against Everton. Dejan Lovren is the undisputed partner for van Dijk now but he needs to be kept fresh and will be rotated out and then put back in for Bournemouth on the weekend.

Gomez will get another chance to prove why we all go so excited about him during the first half of last season. Things have been tough for him during 2019/2020 but he’s young enough and possesses enough quality to come out of this slump.

Leaderless with no heart. Three reasons why Liverpool will batter Everton. light

So much of Liverpool’s attacking threat comes through Alexander-Arnold and Robertson, and we saw how much the side missed Trent when Napoli came to town. Without the right-back, we looked toothless and lacked direction and that’s why Klopp will keep Alexander-Arnold in the side.

Van Dijk is the leader from the back and there is no way he’ll be rested for such a massive game, nor will he be kept out of the side for anything other than an injury during the Premier League campaign.
