Fans can see no future for a Liverpool forward after he underwhelmed during the Christmas run of fixtures.

Harry Wilson started for Bournemouth as they struggled against Brighton and was withdrawn after 62 minutes as rumoured transfer target Ryan Fraser replaced the Welsh international.

Despite a good start to the campaign, the Cherries have struggled for points over the last six games and that has translated to difficult times for the Liverpool loan man as well.

With six goals from 15 appearances, Wilson is Bournemouth’s top scorer but has just three from his last eight games – including a late double away to Tottenham in a losing cause.

He is excellent from dead ball situations and can unleash hell from range, but apart from that fans have criticized what else he could bring to Liverpool if he was included in the Premier League squad for 2020/2021.

The signing of Takumi Minamino has undoubtedly caused question marks to hang over the future of Harry Wilson, while if Xherdan Shaqiri stays around the squad there will be nearly no opportunities for the Academy graduate to play.

And judging by Twitter, there are many football fans who don’t think he should get the chance.

It would be good to see Wilson getting a chance to play under Klopp because he’s a talented lad who came through the ranks, but that sentimental thinking can cloud over reality and right now it doesn’t appear as if that will happen.

If Liverpool decide to sell the 22-year-old, they will not be short of those looking to make an investment in their future. The Reds will also recoup a handy fee for the forward, who will net them a handsome sum.

We can only wait and see what happens with Harry Wilson, but judging by how he played against Brighton the answer is ‘not a lot’.
