Trent Alexander-Arnold

If you weren’t a believer before, it’s time to get on your knees and beg for forgiveness. Alexander-Arnold’s display against Leicester was the textbook example of how an attacking full-back should go about their game and it set up a highly impressive win.

His two assists and a goal were incredible bits of football and it almost sandwiched a month that included an assist against Everton on the fourth.

Not only have the youngster’s performances been excellent, but his absence has proven how important the Scouser is to the side. Without Trent, Liverpool lack attacking threat through those impressive cross-field passes and suffer going forward.

He may still have some work to do on his defending but that’s understandable. Alexander-Arnold is asked to attack so much that those deficiencies are almost a natural knock on effect, while his young age means he’ll only get better in the future.

TAA played eight games in December, registered three assists and a goal and was named man of the match during his last two. That’s the sure sign of a player stepping things up to the next level and we should all be excited about what January and 2020 have in store.
