The January transfer window is upon us. Looking back, what’s going on with the players Liverpool sold in last year’s winter transfer window?

With the January transfer window open, I thought it would be interesting to look back on players that left the club at this time last season.

Liverpool only sold two players in last year’s winter transfer window. Three others went out on loan: Nathaniel Clyne (Bournemouth), Ovie Ejaria (Reading), Taiwo Awoniyi (Mouscron).

I’m not interested in loan players. They came back to the club at the end of their loan so we were able to catch up with them at that point. But players who were sold to other teams are out of sight and out of mind.

You may not have thought about either Dominic Solanke or Lazar Markovic in some while. Both were “sold” in last year’s winter transfer window. (I say “sold” because Lazar Markovic was actually allowed to leave on a free.)

So, how are both doing since they’ve left Liverpool and what are they up to now? And did Liverpool get good value from their sale?
