Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 thanks to a superb Roberto Firmino goal. Read three things we learned from the game here!

Firmino grabbed the only goal of the game after Mohamed Salah set him up inside the box, they rode their luck and then kept a sixth clean sheet in a row as Jurgen Klopp’s side picked up an important three points.

Leicester City lost to Southampton and this meant the Reds opened up their lead at the top of the Premier League and made the best ever start to a top flight season since inception.

Jose Mourinho’s side dropped back early on and had plenty of chances to level things towards the end of the 90 but repeatedly fluffed their lines.

Takumi Minamino was selected on the bench but he was made to wait for his Premier League debut as Klopp throw on Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri (to waste time towards the end). Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain started again, but was replaced after 60 and isn’t fit enough to last the whole game after missing the last few through injury.
