Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has issued a warning to Manchester United and predicted a massive Reds win for the game on Sunday.

Carragher was making his comment on Sky Sports, said the Metro, and wasn’t backwards in coming forwards when asked about his thoughts on the clash.

United managed to hold Liverpool to a 1-1 draw for the Old Trafford leg of this fixture, but things should be different this time around. For a start, the Reds will be running out at Anfield and are now 38 Premier League games unbeaten. The Red Devils should have no chance.

And Jamie Carragher echoes that. He said:

"There is a gulf between the two clubs, and if Liverpool play anywhere near what they are capable of, they will come out on top. I’m confident of a Liverpool win. I think 3-1 Liverpool."

He’s definitely right about there being a gulf between the two sides. Once glance at the league table will tell you that. The Reds are on 61 points with 50 goals scored and only 14 conceded, Man Utd have hit the back of the net 36 times and let in 25 and stand in fifth with 34 points.

Sheffield United are two points behind. Sheffield United.

This is not a position the top brass would have wanted to find themselves in, especially after handing manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær a permanent contract following his explosive start to life in the OT hot seat.

They may also be without top scorer Marcus Rashford, which will negatively impact their already poor attacking output. There will be no Paul Pogba, no Scott McTomminay. United are weak and there for the tacking.

dark. Next. This is the beginning of the end for Adrian and Loris Karius

A 3-1 win would spark wild celebration and give Jurgen Klopp’s boys some momentum to take into the rest of the campaign. It could also help Sheffield or even Wolves leapfrog Man Utd in the league – what a cherry on top that would be.
