The battle between Roadrunners Adama Traoré and Mohamed Salah will shape the result as Liverpool play Wolves on Thursday night.

Fans like players who can get them off the edge of their seat and on Thursday there will be a few who are capable of that. It will be an interesting game for a number of reasons, chief among them the other spooky similarities between other areas of the field.

In Mohamed Salah and Adama Traoré, the Liverpool vs Wolves game will be packed full of pace and that will cause both defenders a few headaches as the last fixture of the round kicks off.

The Egyptian and the Spaniard have a bit of a Roadrunner about them. Those legs just spin round and round and round and seem to get the better of all the Wile E. Coyote type players out there who are looking to cut them down to size.

Salah, on paper, is the most threatening of the pair. He’s got more goals, is the more rounded player and is far more polished than the rapidly improving Traoré.

With 11 Premier League goals and five assists in 19 Premier League games, the former Chelsea man is the joint-top scorer with Sadio Mane. His counterpart has hit the back of the net just four times, but he does have six assists.

And so despite the pace, there are differences between the two forwards. While Salah is an inside-forward, Nuno Santo looks to Traoré to create more than he scores – but his speed is his main weapon.

That means Liverpool and Wolves will be guarded for the opposition to break on the counter, using their wide players to spark chaos and create chances. It’s not often that Jurgen Klopp has to legislate for a manager pulling a switcheroo on him, and that’s what makes the Wolves game so interesting.
