Nothing but net

Trent Alexander-Arnold got another assist from a corner as Jordan Henderson put it in to enhance their reputation as the set-piece kings.

All the hard work that they’ve put in since Jurgen Klopp identified this area as a weakness is paying off and now we’ve got another goal via a set-piece. Alexander-Arnold has got other-wordly delivery and now the Reds have movement, guile, height and aggression in the box and that’s a match made in heaven.

You can be sure that this permeates throughout the squad and down the levels. We’ve seen different people on corners for different games, and now we know this is always going to be another avenue in which the club can score goals.

Shrewsbury are next up in the FA Cup. Keep a close eye on who is hovering over dead ball situations and the outcomes that they lead to.

It also means that we won’t often concede from them, which is another factor ticked off on the road to total domestic and world domination. For as long as Klopp is looking for marginal games like this, and as long as we’ve got the players who are able to pull it off, Liverpool will remain on top.
