Yasser Larouci, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip, Neco Williams

It would normally be Milner in at left-back, but Larouci did so well when he replaced the injured veteran for the Merseyside Derby that he’s earned the chance to go again against lower league opposition.
He’s an attacking player and knows his onions going forward, but defensively he can be exposed and will need help from his more experienced partner. After doing well during preseason, this is another good chance to view the starlet in action.

Lovren and Matip will form the spine of an excellent defence. We could see this partnership in the Premier League, although we’re crossing fingers and toes that we don’t, and they should be more than a match for anything Shrewsbury can throw at them. There may be some rustiness from the pair, who haven’t played since October, but that’s what this game is there to help iron out.

Williams may just be the next to break through into the first team squad on a more regular basis. Since that game against Arsenal, the Welshman hasn’t looked out of place against top flight opposition and should be effective down the right on Sunday.

Both Larouci and Williams know their role and the attacking patterns they are expected to play on Sunday, while the experience of Lovren and Matip will be hard to beat.
