Liverpool vs Shrewsbury predicted team: Lovren, Matip and Fabinho in
Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi, Harvey Elliot
When Mane limped out of the Wolves game, it was Minamino who was sent on in his place. This raised some eyebrows as Origi had always been the man to take Mane’s place, and that sends a message from Klopp.
So we can expect the new Japanese arrival to take up a position in the inside left, while Origi will play through the middle. There will be some flexibility in this, though, as both can (and have) occupied the other’s place in the side.
Elliot has a cup favourite of Klopp’s and you’d back the youngster to continue in that role. He’s been impressing whenever he’s got the chance, and this should be a game in which he can spread his wings and remind us of his talent.
This might be a rotated outfit but there are some serious footballers in there. The back five have got bags of top flight experience while Fabinho anchoring the midfield will help drive Liverpool towards another win while the forwards have got goals at all levels of football.
Peppered in with the senior regulars and some exciting young talents that are destined for bigger things. The Reds might only be playing Shrewsbury, but they need to take them seriously and you can be assured they will.
