Curtis Jones opened the scoring in the 15th minute and the Reds marched to a 2-0 lead after a Donald Love own goal, but then their League One opponents hit back twice to earn themselves a replay at Anfield.

Substitute Jason Cummings scored a penalty that Yasser Larouci gave away before striking from open play after he ran away from the Liverpool back four and placed the ball past Adrian.

Matip and Dejan Lovren started their first game since October as the pair embarked on the road back from injury, and there is a certain amount of wiggle room afforded to how they played given that extreme lack of minutes.

Despite the draw, it was still good to get some movement in their legs and they will now get another crack at it on Merseyside.
