The Liverpool Popworld need to offer Tottenham Hotspur free drinks for life after their humbled Manchester City at home thanks to two second-half goals.

It’s James Pearce’s favorite place to go and it holds a special place in Red hearts all over the world. We’ve seen calls for Rafa Benitez to be honored in the bar after his Newcastle United side beat City last season, and now it’s Jose Mourinho’s turn.

Mourinho did what he knows best: took an absolute battering, gave away a penalty, unleashed tempers and suddenly came away with a win and that smug look plastered all over his face.

Him and Pep Guardiola go way back but there is no love lost there. Indeed, Mourinho has a good record against the Spaniard and is only behind Jurgen Klopp in terms of victories over the former Barcelona manager.

I think Popworld should hold a special celebration at the end of the season where they invite anyone who helped Liverpool inch further and further away from their rivals. Norwich City would be there, Benitez would be invited obviously, Mourinho would be offered a King’s reception.

Imagine the scenes. It would be glorious, and the looks on the faces of those who helped Liverpool to conquer the Premier League would be just as good. Some would be pretty foul, I can’t imagine Jose takes too much joy at the thought, but others wouldn’t really be bothered.

When it’s finally confirmed the city isn’t going to sleep for weeks – and then the Champions League campaign still might end in further joy. Don’t go anywhere until the summer because Klopp and the Liverpool lads aren’t done yet and it could all end in a dirty Popworld smash up.

You wouldn’t change anything for the world, even the sight of the Spurs lads sipping away for free.
