Liverpool 1-0 Norwich player ratings: Keita, Henderson boss, Mane genius
Forwards
Oxlade-Chamberlain was about as much of a factor as Wijnaldum. They weren’t a negative out on the pitch, but they weren’t helping the Reds get that cutting edge they needed to find a way through Norwich’s staunch defending.
Oxlade-Chamberlain would finish the match with a shot and two key passes. Again, he was active, maybe a bit more than Wijnaldum, but he wasn’t doing enough to merit staying on the pitch past the hour mark.
So Klopp took him off for Sadio Mané. A move that would be repaid within 14 minutes.
Subbed for Sadio Mané at the 60th minute.
It took him 14 minutes to find an opening. It was the first time he’s scored coming off the bench. The touch he had to take the ball down from Henderson long-ball was remarkable the turn and boot to find the back of the net was even better.
What a way to score your 100th Premier League goal for Mané. Congrats!
The front line a whole wasn’t great. They weren’t terrible either. They just didn’t do enough to break down Norwich. Firmino had two shots towards goal, a key pass, and dribble but none of it was enough to find that opening.
Salah held four shots on net, had two key passes and was generally a thorn for the Canaries to defend. As he always is. That’s just what he does.
