Klopp will most likely not make any changes at the back as Liverpool will need their best back-four to get the better of Atletico Madrid.

Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk have had a solid partnership at the back which has seen the Reds keep clean sheets in ten of their last 11 Premier League matches. The duo will be eager to keep the Atleti attackers at bay.

Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be starting in their regular full-back and will be expected to prevent the opposition forwards from being much of a goal threat as well as creating scoring opportunities going forward.

Simeone’s main physical threat and he will be available for the game on Wednesday, Sky Sports revealed. His job will be to bully and hassle Gomez and van Dijk all evening and ensure they find life tough in Spain.

We’ve seen that Virgil is a physical unit and not much gets the better of him, but this should be a battle that’s really worth watching. It’ll be interesting to see how Gomez goes, too.
