5. . Liverpool. . Sadio Mane

Looked really up for this, did Sadio, but that energy and enthusiasm didn’t really translate into on field success. Mane ran around like a bit of a headless chicken, got booked and was subbed after 45 minutes for Divock Origi.

Subbed for Divock Origi after 45 minutes

Liverpool. . Divock Origi. 5.

Did okay but didn’t really enhance his claim to be in the first team squad next season. Displayed some tricky feet, some average decision making and a few nice touches but nothing much of substance.

. Roberto Firmino. 6. . Liverpool

Firmino almost made more impact inside his own half than the opposition’s and could be found tracking back and performing more defensive work than attacking. Good control, but struggle against the wall of Atletico’s defence.

Next. A Homage to Jordan Henderson. dark

Liverpool. . Mohamed Salah. 6.

Miscontrolled one horrendous pass from Jan Oblak that turned into a pass for the offside Sadio Mane. Had he trapped it properly, it could have led to a clear goalscoring opportunity for the King. Salah looked isolated at times and had to battle against Atletico for primacy of the ball.

He also wasted an excellent chance with his head after Gomez put it on a plate for the Egyptian.
