Liverpool 3-2 West Ham player ratings: Trent Alexander-Arnold to the rescue
Forwards
Just another standard day at the office for Mohamed Salah. Five shots (three on target), one key pass, five dribbles, and a goal. Sure, the goal was a fluke. On any other day, Fabianski stops that shot. Salah’s shot wasn’t particularly powerful and was right at the West Ham keeper. But you miss 100 percent of the shots you don’t take. And we saw why last night.
Bobby Firmino doesn’t get the glory the others do but again he was that vital link between the midfield and the forwards. Dropping to pick up the ball or finding space to pull defenders is exactly what he’s good at.
When he’s on his game it allows for guys like Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane to find the space they need to fill the net with goals.
Firmino finished with five shots at goal, a 90 percent passer rating, one key pass, and even hit the woodwork. Just another solid game from Firmino. And if that ball in from Arnold on Mane’s goals drops a second earlier Firmino is there for the tap in.
Another day, another goal for Sadio Mane. Three shots at goal, two key passes, an 84 percent passer rating, and two tackles. And of course a goal. It was the total package from Sadio Mane yet again.
