Liverpool might have gone 1-0 down to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the last 16, but they can still win the Champions League. This is why.

The Reds lost 1-0 to Diego Simeone‘s side in Madrid and will have to score two past this mean, warrior-esque defence who defend the goal like their lives depend on it.

Against West Ham this side showed they are willing to fight for their lives and their comeback win was impressive because of the mental fortitude they showed to get there, rather than their individual skill.

But the Champions League is different. It’s a pure cup competition against the best, most well-drilled sides in Europe. The fact that Liverpool have been able to get to the final two years in a row is incredible but it means we can’t take them for granted.
