Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup in a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea. Read our player ratings here to see how the boys performed!

This was a much stronger squad than Jurgen Klopp fielded for Liverpool‘s fourth-round tie against Shrewsbury. I guess the stink of defeat put the gaffer in a a certain mood he didn’t was uncomfortable with.

Neco Williams and Curtis Jones stayed in the lineup, but aside from those two the rest of the team was changed. In were regular first-team players like Virgil van Dijk, Fabinho, and Sadio Mané. But it wasn’t enough as Liverpool caved and lost on back-to-back outings for the first time in forever.

There are a few players that were given an opportunity against Chelsea to prove they deserve a spot in the squad going forward. That trial failed.

The ratings aren’t going to reflect well on most of the Liverpool starting squad.

Keeper

2. . . . Adrian

Adrian had himself a clunker of a day against Chelsea. Liverpool’s backup keeper was at fault for Chelsea’s first goal. Sure. It was a bad giveaway to Willian by Fabinho, but a shot from that distance shouldn’t be troubling a keeper like Adrian. That’s the type of shot he should be eating for breakfast, instead, it bounced off of him like he was made of rubber. Ridiculous

Adrian just wasn’t any good. Even on the second goal, he was a bit deep in his goal gifting Barkley with space to get his goal.
