Midfield

4. . . . Fabinho

The defensive midfielder didn’t look great on that Willian goal int he 13th minute. He fumbled the ball out of the box from Gomez that fell right to Willian. His keeper didn’t bail him out as he should have. Not a great look from the player that was supposed to play the ball out of the back for the rest of the match.

His 87.3 percent passer rating was second on the team and he finished with a key pass. But defensively, Fabinhi left a lot to be desired. There’s more he could have done to break things up. Drifting up forward too frequently. Although I guess that’s what happens when you try to make amends for an error that resulted in a goal against so early.

4. . . . Adam Lallana

Have you ever seen the movie Office Space? Do you know the scene with the two Bob’s? Both ask the character Tom Smykowski “what would you say you do here?” in a very derisive tone. That applies to Lallana after the loss to Chelsea.

This was Lallana’s chance to show Klopp that he deserves more playing time this season as well as going forward. If he shows Klopp anything it’s that Lallana aside from being able to run for a long-time doesn’t offer much for a championship-caliber squad anymore.

Lallana came off in the 79th minute for Mohamed Salah to try and salvage something for the Reds.

6. . . . Curtis Jones

Jones looked alright in his 69 minutes of game time before being replaced for the veteran James Milner.

The teenager looked comfortable playing a high line. He left some gaps that Chelsea exploited, but that’s to be expected from a 19-year-old. Something I’m sure Klopp had planned for. Jones could have picked up a goal if not for a stunning double save from Arrizabalaga.
