Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has demanded that his board cough up £140 million to pay for the transfer of a Liverpool forward.

The Metro has reported that Zizou really likes the look one one of the Reds’ front three and is willing to pay big bucks to land his man.

We’ve seen rumours swirl around regarding the future of Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino but now it’s Sadio Mane‘s turn to get linked with a massive transfer away from Anfield as La Liga is calling his name.

Mane has been a vital part of the Liverpool team this season, scoring 16 goals and creating eight in the Premier League. All of this means it’s highly unlikely that manager Jurgen Klopp will sanction a move away for the Senegalese international – although that eye-watering sum might change things.

We’ve seen that Klopp is willing to part with stars for a massive amount, but there aren’t clear parallels between Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane.

For a start, Coutinho was agitating for the Barcelona transfer. So far, Mane has not. Coutinho was a little bit of an awkward fit in that front four but Klopp found a way. Since the Brazilian has left, the team has clicked better and plays as a more cohesive unit.

Selling the Sadio Mane would ensure Liverpool lose a key cog in their highly thought out unit and that’s not easy to replace. Sure, there are high quality players out there but Jadon Sancho or Kai Havertz might not integrate properly into the side quickly and Liverpool can’t really afford that right now.

Real Madrid might have been a massive lure had the Reds not just won the Champions League and been on course for a record breaking Premier League season. Klopp has extended his contract and a dynasty is incoming.
