With the suspension of the Premier League, everyone is looking for something else to do. So here’s five classic Liverpool games for you to watch!

The Reds had been on the verge of a remarkable domestic triumph, but coronavirus has meant we’ll have to wait a bit longer to taste success.

Saturdays have become a bit meaningless. It feels like someone has ripped the bandaid off and taken my whole arm with it – but that’s the reality we need to live in to stay safe.

Jurgen Klopp has treated us to a few classic moments over the years, but let’s not forget about some great matches and players who went before him.

The next five games will include some from the 70s and maybe one thrown in during more recent times – but they’ll all provide some excellent Liverpool entertainment for you to pass the time with as self-isolation kicks in.

Lets kick things off with an absolute classic from the vault.

Liverpool 3-1 St Etienne

Away goals, eh? They’ve been ruining nights at Anfield for donkey’s years and St Etienne threatened to do the same as Atletico Madrid did when they scored at Anfield to put European dreams on hold.

But 20-year-old David Fairclough scored the winner with just six minutes left of the game to send Liverpool through to the semi-final of the European Cup.

Kevin Keegan grabbed the first goal of the night after just two minutes to bring the scores level on aggregate, but then Dominique Bathenay put the ball in the back of the net to set Scouse nerves jangling.

Ray Kennedy provided some hope before Fairclough sealed the deal in dramatic style – and you can watch the whole thing on this YouTube stream.
