Versatile defender Evan Ndicka could be the perfect fit for Liverpool
Liverpool have been linked to versatile Frankfrurt defender Evan Ndicka, and he could be the perfect fit for the club.
It’s been reported that the Reds have watched Ndicka this season, and his versatility would be a massive bonus for Jurgen Klopp and the backroom staff at Anfield.
As well as being able to fill Dejan Lovren‘s shoes at the back, the French U21 international has also featured at left-back for Frankfurt and would be able to fill in for Andy Robertson.
According to Smarter Scout, Evan Ndicka would be an able deputy for the Scot, if he ever had to fill in. Ndicka’s attacking output is 71, 50 dribbling, 58 for link up, 48 for recovery and 38 pass towards goal.
While none of those are higher than Robertson’s, they are all good numbers and are benchmarked against a Premier League level. This indicates the Frankfurt man would be an able deputy for Robbo.
He’s also a strong ball carrier from central defence as well as being good in the air and able to disrupt opposition attacks well. One bone of contention is that most of his numbers have fallen, which indicates an inconsistency in his game.
But Ndicka is only 20-years-old and that can be expected while they learn the game and from their mistakes.
Plus, the Frenchman would be coming in as a fourth choice player and would be expected to learn the ropes first before contributing towards the Liverpool effort. With Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip already in the squad, there will be plenty of experience to learn from.
The Paris native is only 20 but has 77 senior appearances under his belt and has played at left-back 15 times this campaign.
That versatility should make him perfect for Liverpool, while his age and potential mark him out as one to keep an eye on.
