Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has called out Trent Alexander-Arnold and wants a showdown when they get back to training.

We’ve been in lockdown for a few weeks now due to COVID-19 and that looks like it’ll extend longer after the UK was officially shut this week.

People are allowed outside for exercise, and those lucky ones with a decent back garden will be able to roam free without fears of infection.

Andy Robertson is one of those, as you’d expect, and he’s set up a goal and a few bins or order to practise his free-kick taking.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is renown for having a magic boot – that goal against Hoffenheim is still one of my favourites – and gets the nod on dead ball situations.

But Robbo wants to change all of that, and called out Trent in a video he posted online.

The Scottish defender filmed himself placing free-kicks straight into the top corners of the goal, and now wants to fight for the chance to be able to do so when Liverpool finally take the field again.

I think they should have this massive, huge, important competition at Anfield. Let people in for free, do it in front of a full house, and take free-kicks until one of them misses or can’t stand up anymore.

That’s definitely the best way to go about things.

Liverpool are extremely lucky to have full-backs like Robertson and Alexander-Arnold. They are the cornerstone of Jurgen Klopp’s tactics and made history together with their level of assists from 2018/2019.

Alexander-Arnold is on the verge of breaking his record from last season already. The right-back registered 12 assists and already has that number now.

When the Premier League finally gets back under way, we’ll see who emerges from this as the free-kick victor. I can’t wait for that.
