Norwich City

Norwich have got a fine young squad, and it’ll be a surprise if they aren’t picked apart at the end of the campaign. In many way, that’s a great shame but it’s the way the world works. The Canaries have got several excellent defenders with Ben Godfrey and Max Aarons, but it’s Jamal Lewis who would be the pick of the lot.

Liverpool have already been linked with several Norwich players, including Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia, but they should ignore the bright lights and flashing images of the attacking players to bring in a back-up to Robertson.

Lewis has proven himself as a good Premier League operator, as well as impressing everyone in the Championship last season. He’s played 89 times for Norwich, and despite being left out of the side for a small portion of the campaign, rallied himself well and played the last three games before the season was suspended.

At 22, Lewis would be an excellent back-up for Robertson. We don’t have one in the squad, and it doesn’t seem like there is anyone from the academy who Klopp trusts to step up into the first team when required.

James Milner isn’t getting any younger, either, and while he’s incredible fit age will catch up with Milner eventually and when that happens Klopp will need someone in mind to play left-back.

Lewis could be that man.
