Watford

After so many false dawns, former Everton, Barcelona, AC Milan and Sevilla forward Gerard Deulofeu has finally begun to show more prolonged ability than he glimpses he showed while at those sides.

And you might not have predicted this a few years ago, but the Spaniard is starting to show it with the Hornets. In 2018/2019 he scored 10 goals and created five assists , which was his best return in the professional game.

Deulofeu also started the most league games of his senior career last season, with 25, and is on track to do the same this campaign with 24 already. The goals and assists numbers have fallen, but the tricky forward is still a handful going forward and he remains one of the bright sparks in Watford’s team.

According to WhoScored he’s making nearly two key passes a game, just over two dribbles a game and is getting fouled nearly once per game.

This is a player who is about to hit his key years, he’s playing more consistent football than ever before, making more of a contribution at the sharp end of the pitch than ever and is beginning to understand his game better than ever.

He’d be a good fit on either flank for Liverpool, and Klopp could definitely do something useful with Deulofeu.
