Everton

It’s never really nice to try and pick someone from our biggest rival, but that’s what I have to do and as a result Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the lucky man chosen to escape from the bedlam of Goodison Park to the dreamland of Anfield.

We’ve talked about this a lot, but Liverpool need another forward in this squad and DLC is one of those who is showing excellent promise this season.

Everton don’t have a lot of players who’d get in this side, but you’d pick either Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison. However, the England forward gets the nod over the Brazilian because he’s less temperamental, will count towards the quotas that will be imposed soon and because the 23-year-old is more likely to accept a back-up role behind our front three.

With 32 goals in 125 games for Everton, Calvert-Lewin is far from prolific. However, with 13 this season the striker is having a breakthrough year and finally looks to be reaching his potential.

He runs hard, he works hard, he doesn’t complain. He’s played at wing-back to get a game, he’s sacrificed himself for the greater good and now he’s reaping the reward.

Seeing him dovetail with Firmino, Mane and Salah would be nice, too. Even if he plays for Everton.
