Liverpool April Fools: Top 3 foolish mistakes they made in 2020
April Fools is coming up quickly as we’re getting into 2020, and here are the top three foolish mistakes made by Liverpool and our players this season.
I know we’ve put 2020 in the title but there’s only been three months of the year and Jurgen Klopp’s side don’t make that many mistakes, which is why I’ve allowed myself some artistic license and I’ve gone with the 2019/2020 season as a base.
Things were looking really pretty as we went into February and then into March and April, but then three losses in four games dumped Liverpool out of the FA Cup, the Champions League and ended hopes of an unbeaten Premier League season.
One of these mistakes highlighted is from 2019, but it’s okay because it came about towards the end of that year, while two of them are from 2020. And while that’s good for me, it highlights something about Liverpool’s season that they were both made over the turn of the year.
With no football for the foreseeable future because of COVID-19, none of us know when the Reds will be crowned the Premier League champions or when they’ll get back in training together.
In a way, we’re lucky to find it so difficult to think of the top three mistakes made in 2020. I can barely think of three, but the three I’ve scraped together are good ones (or bad ones), and are sure to spark conversation and debate.
Some sides would have a whole host of things to pick from and that’s one of the better things of being a Liverpool fan.
