Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a brilliant 2019/2020 and is on course to better his efforts of last season.

2018/2019 was recording breaking for the right-back, who formed a formidable double act with left-back Andrew Robertson that saw Liverpool earn 23 assists from the defensive flank.

This campaign, Trent Alexander-Arnold has started like a house on fire and has already equalled his total from last season with 12. The club have produced an in-house video that shows us all of them in a glorious back-to-back montage.

Norwich City, on the first game of the season, was a brilliant way to kick things off and continue the good work. Then, on the third match, came another assist against Arsenal as Liverpool beat the Gunners 3-1.

Surprisingly, Alexander-Arnold made us wait eight more weeks before we’d see a striker sweep home one of his passes as Liverpool beat Aston Villa late in the day to take home another three points.

Two would come against Brighton just two games later and then another was rammed home in the next fixture against Everton. Those 2-1 and 5-2 wins were aided massively by the right-back, who starred over December.

The 4-0 win against Leicester was one of the highlights of the campaign as Jurgen Klopp dismantled a really good Foxes outfit to really turbocharge the Premier League title claim.

Assists came two by two then as Trent set one up against Manchester United in an incredibly pleasing 2-0 win against Manchester United and a hard fought-out 2-1 victory against Wolves.

And then we waited until the 24th of February when he secured his last two assists of the season, so far, to take that final tally to 12.

We don’t know whether or not the Premier League will resume in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Trent Alexander-Arnold is well placed to better his record from last campaign.

He keeps going from strength-to-strength and looks to settle into the role as the best full-back in the world for the next decade.
