Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is cut from a different cloth as he’s made a massive impact in the fight against COVID-19.
Liverpool didn’t conduct themselves very well over the non-playing staff furlough issue, and that shouldn’t take away from the fact that there has been some excellent work done behind the scenes.
Jordan Henderson won’t court publicity but he’s done an incredible amount of work to set up a group of Premier League footballers to partner with NHS Charities Together to create a contribution fund to help fight coronavirus.
The former Sunderland lad has proven that he’s so far removed from the hateful stereotype portrayed by government figures in the last few weeks that you couldn’t even find him with a fine-tooth comb.
Henderson has had to suffer when Liverpool decided to go against everything the club believed in and abandon their socialist principles by deciding to shift their wages onto the government wallet.
Led by our skipper, this group of footballers have done more than the PFA, LMA and FM in trying to use their monumental wealth to help those who can’t help themselves. While governing bodies have squabbled and fought among themselves, Henderson has taken things by the scruff of the neck and done things his own way.
He won't want the praise and will be the first to say it's very much a collective effort but Jordan Henderson has been absolutely central to coordinating all of this. Ask any players/people involved and they will all say the same thing. Well done that man https://t.co/MyajNAt2DF

This isn’t to say that others haven’t. There are heaps of examples of the rich trying to help the poor – and I bet donations from footballers outweigh those from big business – while COVID-19 is ruining the world’s economy.
Barcelona players have taken a 70% pay cut, Manchester City and Manchester United have committed to paying all non-playing staff from their own pockets, Bayern Munich stars Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka donated $1.07 million to charity, Neymar has done the same.
This isn’t just a Jordan Henderson, but in the Premier League we’ve seen precious little action on the matter and our skipper has proven that he’s cut from a different cloth.
